1998 Boy won the WADSL U11 playoff's

The thrill of competition ran through the motivated players of LaSalle on the field at the St. Thomas Soccerfest Tournament on the weekend of July 4th.
It was the London United Soccer Club against our hometown LaSalle Stompers ‘98 Boy’s in the final competition. The competitive spirit and action reached its highest point in the last half of the championship game. Every player of the LaSalle Stompers had only one thought on their minds, victory. After four crushing goals and sixty minutes they had finally achieved what they had set out for in this tournament. The LaSalle Stompers had taken home first place by winning 4 – 1 in the championship game and ending the tournament with an undefeated record. In the semi-final, the Green Machine defeated the Windsor Wolves 2 - 1, this is a team that LaSalle shares a friendly local rivalry with. Screams of excitement and celebration could be heard from across the field after the final whistle blew and their trophy was delivered. After the exciting match and hard earned win you could pretty much hear Queen’s “We Are The Champions” chanted by the players from across the fields. The extremely happy coach Omer Gursoy responded by saying “The victory was a true credit to their spirit and never say die attitude” The teamwork, skill and countless hours of practice had led them to this glorifying victory of the renowned Soccerfest tournament.
